Whether you’re sporting a medium goatee or a full God of War ducktail, Old Lawmen Beard Wax helps you keep the shape of your beard and your beard in shape. It contains natural ingredients such as Bees wax, Shea Butter, Jojoba oil and Argan oil, with the addition of Cedar, Pine and Black Peppar Essential oils to give the wax its distinctive, raw but sweet outdoor scent.
How to use
Take a small amount of wax (depending on the length and thickness of your beard) and warm it between your hands. Work it through your beard, starting at the root and going toward the tips, then shape it using your fingers or a good quality beard comb.
Old Lawmen Beard Wax is designed for external use only. If you have an allergic constitution, test the product first by rubbing a little on the inside of your elbow. If redness, swelling or any other kind of irritation occurs, stop using the product immediately and consult a doctor if necessary.
Grainy wax? No problem
Like with all natural wax products, the texture of your Beard Wax might turn grainy or gritty. The reason behind this is the Shea Butter. Shea Butter is a complex natural fat and the different components within the butter melt and solidify at different temperatures. So, if the beard wax warms up to a melting point and then cools down again, little grains appear. Unfortunately, this can happen before you’ve even bought the product, due to varying temperatures in the store or during transport.
The good news is that it’s VERY easy to fix. Take a small saucepan, fill it halfway with water and place a well-fitting plate (or bowl) on top of that. Make sure the plate doesn’t directly touch the water, you only need the steam to reach the bottom. Place the tin of Beard Wax (without lid) in the middle of the plate and bring the water to a boil. As soon as the wax has completely melted, pick it up carefully with an oven glove and immediately put it in the fridge. Screw the lid on (again, careful with the heat) and close the door. Leave it in there for 1-2 hours and your Beard Wax should be as good as new. Store it in a cool, dry place.
This “bain-marie” method is suited for most wax products that solely contain natural oils and fats. We’ve heard of people heating theirs in an oven or microwave, but we haven’t tested that ourselves. We advice against heating products that contain synthetic chemicals, but these probably won’t turn grainy anyway.
Your Beard Wax might lose a little bit of fragrance when heat is added. Also, keep in mind that it is an all-natural product and that the quality will deteriorate over time, no matter how well you’ve stored it.
